The structural system of the Wuhan Center is a composite mega-frame designed to withstand both high wind loads and seismic activity. The core is a reinforced concrete tube, while the perimeter consists of concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) columns.
A critical engineering innovation in this tower is the extensive use of Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs). These braces are integrated into the outrigger trusses and the belt trusses located at mechanical floors. Unlike traditional braces that can buckle under compression, BRBs are designed to yield plastically without losing stability, acting as energy dissipation dampers during an earthquake. FOUNDATION AND GEOTECHNICAL SYSTEMS

The Wuhan Center is equipped with a high-capacity elevator system supplied by Kone. The building houses 68 elevators, including high-speed shuttle lifts capable of traveling at 10 meters per second.
The vertical transportation strategy is divided into four distinct zones: corporate offices, executive apartments, the VIP hotel, and the observation deck. The elevators utilize a destination control system to optimize traffic flow, and the cars are designed with aerodynamic shrouds to reduce air resistance and noise within the long hoistways.
SUSTAINABILITY AND FACADE PERFORMANCE
The tower features a fully unitized glass curtain wall system. The glazing is composed of double-silver Low-E (low emissivity) glass, which offers high visible light transmittance while reflecting the majority of infrared solar heat.
The geometric "scales" of the façade act as self-shading elements, further reducing the solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC). The building also incorporates a rainwater harvesting system that collects runoff from the roof and podium for use in landscaping and cooling tower makeup water.
